well, my own nerd factor aside, there is a reason, “lore” wise that the autobots arent combat vehicles, in the original story, the autobots were the “peaceful” civilian robots of cybertron, the decepticons were all the military class robots. thats also why they are at war, the military bots (led by megatron) wanted to take over, the peaceful civilians didnt want to cooperate and war raged for milenia.
resulting in cybertron becomeing a dead husk, and the search for new energe sorces
