I had recently decided to put up my collection of Transformers toys from the 80's and word got out to the local news, so I had a little 2-3 minute blurb about it. There are over 880 figures, with more than 240 sealed. Definitely a monument to my own nerdiness. It just feels like it's time to let 'em go, if I can get the right price; something between $60-100k. Yep, it's still for sale and no, I won't break up the collection. It's an all or nothing situation. The eBay action is set to end on October 19th, 2008 at 6:30pm AZ time: eBay Item 330278541986

@Techlifter are u sure u want to part awat from ur collection, because it looks like such an accomplishment(from a collectors POV) to get rid of something u worked for?
i crying sigh……
Dude DONT SELL IT fgs!!!PLEASE!
thats a massive collection mate,i hope you get the full asking price.you deserve it for your collecting over the years.i used to have a good few as a kid but eventually sold them on.if i could just have a couple of unopened ones it’d be grimlock and optimus prime.i miss them lol
Did you ever sell them yet? Were you able to keep the dinos?
im gonna start collecting toys.
Yep, that’s definitely me. The robbery happened back in July of 2009. Not a single Transformer was taken, I assume because they didn’t know what they were/worth.
Just TVs, computers, a few laptops, and miscellaneous electronics, for the most part.
are you the perry bigley that got robbed?
i have a collection of all the transformers even the ones that have never been seen before like universe primius
Now I know what I will do if I win the lottery:
Big-ass house – check
Ferrari -check
Complete MIB/MISB G1 Transformers collection – CHECK!
Hey body, I´m amaze because you´re selling this huge part of your life, I´m 25 and I got like 80 or 82 transformers and I´m wondering the main reason of what you´re doing, I´d also collected NBA trading cards for 16 years but I stop like two years ago and I did it because I find like a piece of mind with them, it´s not that I don´t like it, it´s just that i´m cool with them, the same thing happen to you?
Amazing Collection by the way…
@thisusernamesucks234 I believe it’s Tripredacus
@Jamesullivan Well, part of the collection for sale is at *least* one opened figure for every sealed/MIB figure, already. I don’t have any intention of starting to collect again (what would be the point, right?)
It was a good run, but I’m ready to pass them on, when the right deal comes along.
@Minersfrost Nope, not yet. I’ve had a couple of offers and two solid buyers who had to back out due to other financial obligations. Trying to sell my collection right as the economy really started to tank was probably bad timing, but I don’t suppose I could have known that was coming.
So the collection is still for sale and I’m just not actively advertising it to avoid the inevitable low-ball offers.
Well, while I can’t say that they keep my life meaningful, I’ve certainly gotten a lot of joy from having them over the years. To that end, I think I’ve addressed any pangs I might experience by electing to keep my sealed Dinobots. You know, just a piece of what once was.
i understands how you feel. you wanna sell all your transformers because you don’t want to be addicted to it anymore. if you keep some of your collection, you will feel want to recollect them back, right? if this is your motive to keep your life meaningful, i think you should keep it.
Hi, have you made the sale?
With all those he can do a great stop motion. Really cool if he did.
He handles them very well, good job> At least hes ot a fat colleccter.
How do you even know what he was going to do with the money?
i would keep them
