Product Description
STARSCREAM is one of the deadliest warriors ever to emerge from the early battles of the civil war. He allied himself early on with MEGATRON, realizing that the DECEPTICON way was the easiest path to absolute power. He takes joy in destruction, his shrill laughter echoing across any battlefield over which he flies. Despite his power, he is a coward at heart, a bully more than a tyrant. He lives to lord his strength over those weaker than him, but he lives in fear of anyone stronger. Convert this advanced conversion figure from robot to fighter-jet vehicle mode - and back again! Try launching missiles at your target! Complete with twin null-ray cannons with firing projectiles in robot mode and flip down landing gear in fighter-jet vehicle mode, this is one awesome figure for your collection.

  1. this transformer is hard to like or dislike. this is certainly fun, and looks great, b ut i can’t help but dwell on the cons. first of all, even though the amazon.com picture depicts this starscream figure as red, white, and blue, it is in fact orange, white, and blue. i don’t really mind this, and i fact think it is a cooler looking tri-color combination, i am disapointed about not gfetting what i saw. another slight problem is the transformation. it is competent enough, it transitions extremely well between robot and plane, but it takes a bit too long. even when you put it into robot form, if you touch anything, it gets ut of place, and nothing really latches in.

I felt like a kid again when I got this Starscream. This was one transformer I always wanted as a kid, but was never able to find. So now as 30 plus year old I finally have my Starscream toy. In both jet and robot mode he looks really good. Although I never had an original Starscream I did have a couple of the other seekers and I really like that this one does not have nearly as many parts that come off when transforming. That is a bit plus on this one. This is a well done product.

I love this toy!! Finally a newer, more playable toy that reflects the G1 version of Starscream that is his true form. Awesome toy, to play with and/or display.

  4. When I was a wee tot, I lived, breathed, and dreamed Transformers. The iconic battles of good and evil between giant robots… the animation and voice acting was really pretty good and mostly holds up even today. Of course, I had the toys, mostly, but never had any of the Decepticon seekers.

Now I’m an adult, and I can buy my own toys.

Starscream is an important player in the Transformers TV continuity, along with Megatron and Soundwave, so you’ve got to have him. He is best known for being a simpering coward, although after rewatching the series I notice that he has a very scientific bent when not begging for mercy. His toy is a nice jet; the coloring is cartoony, but of course it must be. His missiles fire a good distance, maybe three feet or so. His robot form is good looking, the head actually looks like the TV character (!!!), and only his guns come off (a big improvement over missing hands, missing wings, etc.)

The transform is somewhat difficult, as the fists swing inside the arms and can be difficult to get out, and the nosecone executes a complicated folding maneuver to transform to robot. The end result is quite impressive, as my Gen 1 toys never really looked like their TV characters, but this one does. My only complaints are that the figure is entirely plastic (in the good old days, our toys were made of steel so that we could club each other with them), and that my Starscream has loose joints already. I think these new ones are made to pop apart rather than break, but seeing his form go limp occasionally is just … disappointing.

My opinion is that if you always wished to have the Decepticon seekers, this toy will fulfill your 25 year long dream. I have fun playing with it with my son (although he can’t transform it) and it is quite poseable on my display shelf. Along with Acid Storm and Skywarp, he leads many sorties against battle damaged Autobots, hot wheels, and assorted barbies that my kids have collected.

  5. As a collector, actually I wasn’t a collector at the time I bought this in 06. This and hotrod aka rodimus was the first transformers that I ever bought. The reason I got this one even though look wise this and that starscream are the same is because of the paint job. If you have the 06 universe of starscream the red is very orangey. The paint job is just dull. It looks fine, but it doesn’t pop color wise. This one the red is more vibrant there is blue and the body of the plane is more white than dull grey. The only complaint I had about that one was it wasn’t close to starscream color wise. Now they corrected that, good job. If the 06 one looked like this I would not have bought it again. But, its only 10 dollars so I didn’t break the bank. Very durable toy, buy it for your kid.
